HIROYUKI AIHARA


Dr. Hiroyuki Aihara is currently Director of Endoscopic Tissue Resection in Division of Gastroenterology,
Hepatology and Endoscopy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Associate Professor of
Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Aihara is an international expert in a minimally invasive
endoscopic procedure called endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). His research focuses on the
minimally invasive endoscopic treatment of gastrointestinal tumors. Dr. Aihara has clinical interests in
endoscopic submucosal resection (ESD), Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), Peroral Endoscopic
Myotomy (POEM), Submucosal Tunneling Endoscopic Resection (STER), and Image-enhanced Endoscopy
(IEE).
