CARLOS ANTONIO ROBLES MEDRANDA

Carlos Robles-Medranda, is a gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist from Ecuador, member of several renowned international professional societies, including ESGE, ASGE, AGA, and ACG. He is currently the head of the Endoscopy Division of the Ecuadorian Institute of Digestive Diseases (IECED), in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and the director of the Pentax Training Center Ecuador (PTCE), endorsed by WEO and by ASGE in Latin America, where more than 100 professionals from all over the world have been trained in Advanced Interventional Endoscopy.
Throughout his career, he has conducted several studies which have been recognized and awarded internationally. He received the National Scholar Award at UEG Week 2013 and 2018. He also earned the best abstract award in the World Congress of Gastroenterology 2017 in the category of functional disorders. Additionally, he was
recognized as the 2nd Best Abstract Award at the World Congress of GI (Endo 2020) and was awarded with the Best Procedural Innovation of the year in ESGE DAYS 2021. In 2022, he was awarded the WEO Best Abstract: Meinhard Classen Award (Endo 2022). Recently, during the SEPD 2023 event he received the award for “Best communication on the pancreas and bile ducts”, also the “Distinguished Scientific Abstract” and the “Best Scientific Abstract” for oral presentation during the Argentine National Congress of Gastroenterology 2023.
